WHIAR is a Non-Profit Organization (NPO) that focuses on the prevention and cure of respiratory ailments and diseases. Formed by a team of medical professionals and student, WHIAR aims to raise awareness and spread the message of proper respiratory habits. The organization has been in existence for the past 20 years.
The organization comprises a Board of Directors, a research group and an executive group. The Board of Directors includes top executives from industries such as pharmaceuticals, medicine, educational institutions and F&B. They have advocated good practices over their careers in industry. The executive group comprises the founders, as well as leading doctors and respiratory surgeons from around the country.
Most importantly, our research group is the pride of our organization. The research group comprises PhD students, practitioners and scientists, who continue to break new grounds on research. They look into areas such as drugs, industrial pollution and diseases. Our research is funded in part by corporates as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, and in part by our local governments.
We truly believe in prevention more than cure. Many respiratory ailments such as asthma can be controlled to a large extent by a good, healthy lifestyle. We continue to be a leading advocate of good practices in our nation.
